The
FDP2
range
of interfaces provide monitoring and control solutions for
Toshiba SMMS, SHRM and Digital Inverter air conditioning systems.
FDP2 interfaces are the basic building block for creating low cost
air-conditioning control solutions. A single FDP2 interface can monitor
and control up to 8 indoor units as a single group, multiple FDP2s can
create more complex groupings. Two versions are currently available,
the FD2-F provides basic
fault monitoring and control, the FDP2-BMS
extends this by adding a number of control inputs that can be used for
control or for hardwiring to a BMS. Both FDP2s can be
configured with a variety of control functions to satisfy different
applications. Custom solutions can be created to handle a wide range of
application requirements.

The
FDP2-F
provides fault monitoring
functionality with the ability to operate units in either local or
central modes. Three preset modes can be set in order to lock the
keypad and operate the units in Heat, Cool or Auto modes.
Group control can be achieved by
networking multiple FDP2-Fs on the D-Bus network. If the master is
operated in local mode then the additional FDP2-Fs act as slaves and
so very large numbers of units can be operated from a single keypad.
Alternatively the master can be operated in one of the central preset
modes in which case all slaves operate to the same settings. If an
FDP2-BMS is used as the master then the FDP2-F slaves can extend the
control to a large number of units.
A pair of FDP2-Fs can be operated as a
duty/standby pair with 24 hour duty changeover as well as changeover
on fault. For more information on applications, download
the FDP2
Application Guide. |

The
FDP2-BMS
in
its factory configuration is configured so that the 6
inputs can be connected to switches and variable resistances, or
voltage sources such as BMS outputs, so that various unit functions can
be altered. The inputs allow the unit setpoint, fanspeed, mode, louvre
operation, on/off state and keypad lock state to be altered. This
allows basic control of the units operation without the need for any
reconfiguration of the FDP2. When switching between central and local
control, an the FDP2-BMS can be configured to restore the
user settings from the previous local operation.
The size of the group can be extended by adding additional FDP2-F and
FDP2-BMS on the D-Bus network. For
more information on applications, download
the FDP2
Application Guide. |
